Polyclinic Kocijan Hercigonja was established in 2003 under the name Polyclinic for Neurology and Psychiatry. In 2007 it expanded its activities and thus changed its name to Polyclinic of Neurology, Psychiatry, Occupational Health and Sports and Internal Medicine Kocijan / Hercigonja, at Lipovečka 17. Its founder, Prof. Dubravka Kocijan-Hercigonja PhD, is a renowned and world-recognized expert in the field of neuropsychiatry, especially child psychiatry.

The polyclinic offers specialist examinations and medical services in the field of psychiatry, psychotherapy and neurology, thus providing complete health services, from prevention and diagnosis to treatment. The imperative on which its business is based, is individual approach to each client.

Today, the Polyclinic’s friendly staff takes care of you, including psychiatrists / therapists, a special education teacher, a psychologist, a neurologist and a nurse.


The Polyclinic includes 5 infirmaries for psychiatry and psychotherapy, and is extremely proud of its “ADHD Center”, which operates within the clinic and deals with diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. Additionally, it carries out “School for Parents”, which empowers parents in learning techniques that help the child with ADHD,  providing them  with a better chance for success in school, at home and among peers. As a part of the “ADHD Center”, a diagnostic procedure available to both children and adults is the T.O.V.A. test – the Test of Variables of Attention (results are processed at the Center for ADHD in the USA). The treatment of diagnosed ADHD is also possible through attention training – “Play Attention” –a neurofeedback / edufeedback training system, carried out through simulation video games. Through group or individual therapy, specialized experts offer help in teaching children with disabilities to master the material, using mental maps and other innovative techniques, as well as learning social skills.

Educational courses and seminars are often held in the Polyclinic, which deal specifically with the specialized field of psychiatry, psychotherapy and neurology. The field of psychiatry offers help in various mental health problems and disorders, such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, stress, psychosis, PTSD, marital and family problems. It cooperates with other mental health facilities and through cooperation with them, makes necessary amendmends to meet the customers’ needs.
